Battle West District cross-country teams meet in Little Loon

Students who qualify will move on to provincials Oct. 11 at Yorkton's Deer Park Golf Course.

The Battle West District held its cross-country meet on Oct. 2 at Little Loon.

UNITY — Cross-country teams from the Battle West district met in Little Loon, Oct. 2, to compete for the chance to move forward to provincials. Students from local schools represented the area well, bringing home some hard-earned hardware.

In the Novice category, Stella Holman of Luseland and Finley Clark of Unity Public School both won bronze. Unity Composite High School student, Liam Close, continues to dominate in the bantam category, winning gold at districts. Aaron Rutley of Cut Knife Community School also won gold in the Senior category.

Luseland District School saw plenty of medals coming home after the event. Intermediate Gabrielle Greter and senior Preston Knapton both won silver, while juniors Exzavior Boyle and Lily Holman won bronze and gold, respectively.

The provincial cross-country meet will be held Oct. 11 in Yorkton at the Deer Park Golf Course.
