The Saskatchewan Roughriders lost their first game this season against the Calgary Stampeders 24-10.

"Winning is important, but what's more important is who we're becoming in the process because towards the end of the year, we're going to be a different team," Trevor Harris explained.

"We're going to see Calgary again and we're excited about that. We're excited to see them and someday we will. We'll deal with that then, but we've got a big test this week at B.C. It's going to be a lot of fun, great environment and we know that we're going to need to up our tempo on our game to win this one."

The six-foot-three, 212-pound quarterback completed 36-of 44 passes for 425 yards with one touchdown against the Stamps. This season, the 39-year-old has played four games for the Green and White, he has completed 76 percent of his passes for 1,231 yards with six touchdowns and three interceptions.

"I think one of the paradoxes in football is when you win, a lot of times, mistakes happen. Sometimes, you can be like: 'Oh, hey, we've got to get better.' But a lot of times we're a little bit more critical when it causes a loss, sometimes that's a good thing," Harris explained.

"I said in the locker room: 'The only thing this means is we're not going undefeated.' That's what coach [Corey] Mace said. Shoot, it's going to be up to us how we respond. We've got a great championship-calibre team in that locker room, I expect nothing less from us to come up and get better this week."

The Riders can get revenge against the Stampeders in Week 12 when the team travels to Calgary for a rematch.

Meanwhile, three players from Saskatchewan were picked for the CFL honour roll in Week 6: Joe Robustelli, Jaxon Ford and Harris. Robustelli led all receivers across the three-down league with 11 receptions for 191 yards and one touchdown.

"We feel very confident in our playmakers that they're going to be able to make those kinds of plays. I told you guys a long time ago that I called him 'Gelliman' for a long time, I think you kind of see a little bit of Greg Ellison in him," Harris said.

"The sky's the limit for Joe and I'm excited for him. But at the same time, we've got to make sure we're getting better every single week. We can't just look at that game and say: 'Joe's the man.' We need to be critical and ensure we're improving each week, making sure I'm getting better for him by hitting the right spots and timing, among other things."

The Green and White travel to B.C. to tale on the Lions Saturday. Make sure to catch the pre-game show with Teagan Witko, Justin Dunk and Wes Cates at 2 p.m. Dave Thomas and Luc Mullinder have the game call at 5 p.m. You can hear everything on the 620 CKRM Co-operators Rider Broadcast Network.
