Moose Jaw Miller Express 5, Swift Current 57’s 2
The Moose Jaw Miller Express rallied with four runs in the ninth inning to defeat the Swift Current 57’s 5–2 on the road Tuesday night, evening their record at 8–8.
Moose Jaw opened the scoring in the third on an RBI single from Jackson Yeager, but Swift Current responded in the fourth, highlighted by Wilmer Henriquez’s fifth home run of the season to take a 2–1 lead.
The score remained unchanged until the ninth when Regina’s Evan Deringer tied the game with his second home run of the year. Yeager later drew a walk to bring in the go-ahead run, and Moose Jaw added insurance as back-to-back batters were hit by pitches with the bases loaded.
In the bottom of the ninth, the 57’s put two runners on, but Miller's reliever Cristian Garcia induced a 6-4-3 double play and a groundout to Henriquez to end the game.
The Miller Express returns home to face the Regina Red Sox on Thursday at Ross Wells Park. Swift Current will look to bounce back the same night when they host the Medicine Hat Mavericks at Mitchell Field.
